Tungsten

Tungsten is a chemical element and a refractory metal noted for its extreme thermal stability. It possesses one of the highest melting points of any pure metal, allowing its use in applications requiring exposure to intense heat. Due to its mechanical strength and high melting point, it is utilized in specialized alloys for tooling, crucibles, and filaments in high-temperature electric lamps. Chemically, the element is highly resistant to oxidation under extreme conditions, making it valuable in processes where conventional materials would fail due to thermal decomposition.
