Sodium sulfate

Sodium sulfate is an inorganic salt with the chemical formula $\text{Na}_2\text{SO}_4$. As a crystalline white solid, it is highly soluble in water and serves as a fundamental chemical compound utilized across diverse industrial and commercial applications. Historically and currently, it is employed in the production of various detergents, as a source of sulfur dioxide, and in specialized industrial processes. In aqueous solutions, it is effective for purifying water and is sometimes used in the treatment of hard water to mitigate mineral buildup. Furthermore, due to its chemical stability and availability, it plays a role in the manufacturing of other salts and chemical reagents.
