Plant cell

A plant cell is a fundamental unit of plant life, characterized by several structures that distinguish it from other types of cells. Structurally, the cell is typically encased by a rigid cell wall, providing structural support and protection outside the plasma membrane. Within the cell, specialized organelles include numerous chloroplasts, which are responsible for the process of photosynthesis, converting light energy into chemical energy. Furthermore, plant cells often feature a large central vacuole that maintains turgor pressure, helping to keep the cell rigid and providing storage space. These specialized components enable the cell to perform autotrophic processes necessary for plant survival and function.
