Feldspar

Feldspars represent a large and chemically diverse group of aluminosilicate minerals that constitute a major component of the Earth’s crust. They are characterized by their framework structure, incorporating aluminum, silicon, and various alkali and alkaline earth metals, such as sodium, potassium, and calcium. Within this group, distinct chemical series include plagioclase feldspars and alkali feldspars, which vary systematically in their ionic composition. Industrially, the mineral is highly valued as a raw material due to its thermal stability and chemical composition, making it critical in the manufacturing processes for ceramics, glass, and specialized abrasive materials.
